Date 20th March 2019

What a great night we all had. Firstly, we were sold out completely so the atmosphere was fantastic. The food was perfect, and the dancers filled the floor.

Paula Randell who performed as Tina Turner was exceptional with all the songs and the costumes being perfect. It was so good nobody wanted her to finish

Shark Attack Golf Day 2018

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Saturday August 4

Not as many players as previous years , but the weather was very good and we raised about £7500 on the day. However it has to be tinged with a little sadness as I have decided to end the Golf Day and concentrate on promoting two tribute nights a year. The golf days have finally become to much for me to organise so I will concentrate on raising as much money as possible from the Tribute nights.

Elvis Tribute Night March 2018

Unfortunately I missed it – Damn !

Having just got back from holiday in Spain I ended up in hospital the day before Elvis arrived in the building so missed it all. However I did have some very good reports from my lovely wife Velma who I had persuaded to go without me. Looking at her picture well!!. I am advised that everybody had a fabulous night with a strange Elvis with a distinctly South African accent won the best fancy dress. Well done Andrew Dunkley MD of The Wiltshire. Many compliments were made on the food, thnks to the chef and all the team. The evening raised +/- £1600.00. Thank you very much (American accent).

The next event will be our annual Golf day which will be on Friday 3rd August 2018 so I look forward to seeing you all there.

Once again you turned out to a sold-out Bee Gees tribute night, many of you in fancy dress to make it nothing short of a wonderful evening. The dance floor was packed as the band performed songs from the great Bee Gees song book. The food was great, and the music was fantastic.

Look out for our next event when Elvis will be in the building on Friday 17th March 2018. Tickets will be on sale from 1st Jan 2018. Book as soon as you can as tickets are limited due to the capacity of the venue.

Shark Attack Golf Day 2017

Friday 10th June 2017

Due to scheduling problems at The Wiltshire this year’s event was held two months’ early. This had an impact on the number of players taking part but not to the revenue. A good day was had by all even though it was a little damp in the morning. The afternoon round was held in sunshine, so all was forgiven by the time we got to the presentation dinner. One of the highlights of the evening was a last-minute donation to the raffle by Imagine Cruising Ltd who gave us a 7-day Rhine Cruise to auction. Peter Lambert paid £1600 for the item – two tickets all inclusive. Thank you, Imagine Cruising.

As usual the raffle ensured that all ticket buyers won a prize! So, everybody was happy.

In 2018 we revert to our usual timing for the event which will be on Friday 27th July 2018.

Abba Tribute Night 2017

Saturday 18th March 2017

What a night this was with the event fully sold out and the Abba tribute act giving their best rendition of all the Abba hits the dance floor was just packed solid.
What really surprised me was the amount of people who dressed up for the evening including myself and fantastic wife Velma. A prize was awarded to the best dressed of the evening. The evening raised £3600 gross and the net amount will be included in Shark Attack donation to Head & Neck Cancer Research.

Chinese Oriental Night 2015

June the 7th 2015 saw over 60 guests descend on The Oriental Aroma Restuarant, High Street, Royal Wootton Basset in Wiltshire for a wonderful banquet supplied by owner James Huyne. Live band ‘Legacy’ provided great music throughout the evening and the floor was packed with dancers(?) of all ages trying to remember their youth.

Mike Hughes was the host for the evening with myself and my lovely wife Velma scampering around selling raffle tickets. The event raised a total of £1094 (£844 net)

Race Night 27th March 2015

By | Charity Events, Night at the Races | No Comments

What a wonderful evening was had by all.

For a moment I thought I must be at Cheltenham or Newbury race courses with all the shouting going on! With six races during the evening the money exchanged hands very frequently – with me being a loser!

There were two draws for four balls at Celtic Manor Golf Resort courtesy of Festive Productions Ltd. The first for the Race Sponsors was won (can you believe it, by the first race sponsors, Shark Attack. This was quickly auctioned off and fierce bidding was secured by Graeme Wright for £130. The second draw was won by the sponsors of the fourth race TQP Engineering Ltd – Pauline & Michael Teer. I am told that they will be saving the four ball to give to brother Fred who is coming over from Australia to play in Shark Attack in August. Well done to both.

The food again was fantastic (as last year) my grateful thanks to the chef and his wonderful staff.

Financially it was also a great success with the amount raised at £1666 before expenses netted the fund to be taken forward to £1022. Thank you to all our patrons.
